Communicating With Our Residents Is A Top Priority

The current School Board has made communication with our community a priority. Below is a summary of the steps that the current Board, of which each member of the Proven Team slate has played an integral role in implementing:

• An award winning user friendly, interactive Web site which includes valuable information on all District schools, student performance, curriculum and programs and more. The Web site also enables parents to schedule conferences at the high school, check student assignments and progress at the middle school and provides e-mail and phone contact for teachers and staff at all schools, District administrators and School Board members.

• Televised School Board Meetings

• An e-mail news list which includes nearly 1,300 members that provides regular updates.
   

• Information displays in key locations in the community.
   

• Annual Report distributed in the Fall community wide.
   

• Spring Newsletter distributed community wide.  
   

• A senior citizen matinee and luncheon as well as a senior citizen reception during the District-wide student art show. (More senior events are planned beginning with the 2007-2008 school year.)
   

• The ConnectEd communications system which allows the District to contact thousands of parents within a matter of minutes to inform them of school closings or upcoming events/programs of interest.
   

• Award-winning programming on CITV including “teachable moments”, an Above and Beyond update, news updates, School of the Month, student-produced Public Service Announcements and more.
   

• Open House for non-public school students at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. (Expanded Open Houses are planned for the future.)
